History

  • Al went Mozambique Africa in 2005 at the request of a friend to assess some of the concerns his friend had been sharing with him. This trip started a research work into the thinking styles of the nationals. This research is ongoing today. Our research has shown many things but there are several fundamental things that stand out.
  • On average Mozambique nationals are on the extreme high end of intelligence within their own culture; they all carry their own PHD in personal survival.
  • Though Mozambicans demonstrate a high level of intelligence, new ideas / concepts or the ability to think in abstracts are complicated for them to comprehend due mostly to the loss of conceptual design in their national language. This in turn effects cultural development either neutrally or negatively.
  • Our research has discovered over 500 concepts that are critical to comprehending the gospel Jesus Christ and HIS salvation that do not exist in most of the cultures and languages in Mozambique.
  • Our research has show this lack of comprehension is a direct result of suppressed thinking skills. These skills have not been allowed to develop within the nationals because of cultural suppression that has taken place over many centuries.
  • This suppression takes many forms. Keep in mind some suppression was intentional, some unintentional. Tribe against Tribe, Colonialism, Early missionaries forcing language and culture change in the name of Christ and slavery.
  • Our research has shown that this reasoning deficit is one of the major root causes of the development of syn-cretism throughout Africa. Without discernment there can be no transformation in the base thinking pattern.
  • IRI has developed a program that addresses these concept deficiencies. We challenge the individuals to develop ways to redevelop within their own cultural language processes to rebuild their lost or suppressed reasoning tools. This way they own it.
  • Results of reintroducing the tools of abstract, conceptual and analytical thinking into the Mozambique nationals reasoning tool box were extremely successful. We did this through a pilot program that was initiated in March 2011 and focused on 5 individuals with an extreme cross section of tribal back ground. This influence of these 5 men have generated the following results since March of 2011

Existing Churches

Pastors of existing churches are for the first time in their knowledge of Bible and Jesus Christ realizing a full comprehension as to who Jesus Christ is.

  • Pastors of existing churches are for the first time ever comprehending things like relationship, and covenant not to mention future.
  • 150 existing churches that I know of throughout Mozambique are transforming away from animism or ancestral worship. There are 3 times as many wanting this program but we have not have the personnel to supply.
  • Ministers / Pastors of all denominations are contacting IRI for these workshops. They realize their comprehension of God’s word is challenged.
